Show in the "HI-Y" photograph,
Melvin McCauley and Floyd Horton might well be members
of families that spaned several generations at Godwin
Max Elliot, top row, fourth from the right, remained in
the Godwin area long after graduation. Two children
graduated from Godwin. Doward Dulyea, top row, third
from the right, was one of many siblings to attend Godwin,
as did many next generation Dulyea's. Thelma Loucks might
have been part of the Loucks family that own the Division
Avenue lumber yard. There were a number of Loucks in the
next generation that attended Godwin.
There might be indications in the photograph that the Great Depression was starting to take its toll on the prosperity of the community. But then, dressing up is not something that younger people have ever done very willingly.
